Nano-tank (Not Reef)

Is it possible to set up a 10-12 gallon saltwater system as a FOWLR (perhaps a few hardy invertebrates), with a showpiece of either a snowflake moray (Echidna nebulosa) or saddled toby (Canthigaster valentini)?

If neither of these species are suitable, what are some that you would recommend?

I would love to have a larger tank, but because I'll probably be moving into a dorm within the next year-and-a-half, I'm restricted to desk- or table-top sizes because of college rules and available space. Money is not an issue--I'm prepared to spend as much as I need to spend in order to have a successful system.

No way you could successfully put a eel in a 10-12gal tank. I would suggest firefish, perc etc.

I agree that that`s way too small for an eel. You could get one for two small fish.

Liveaquaria has a great “nano fish” section that recommends small fish for your tank. I would limit to one or two of these to start and only add 1 fish per 6 weeks to give your bacteria time to build up.

Also please do a fishless cycle with shrimp and/or lr and do not use fish to cycle.

See nano tanks... what’s your opinion on this one? for ideas.
