Nassarius snail killing feather duster

I have a feeling no one will be surprised that my snail is currently killing my new feather duster (as in hours old).
Ugh. I feel terrible.

a nassarius snail is not going to take down a living creature. even so, shoving it down in the sand isn't going to keep it safe.

Thanks for the info! There were a couple more battles and I thought the worm won! I can see now that he is forming his sand tube quickly. Any info on how they do that? His body is green.

I actually ldug a trough and gently moved him in.
