Need a little help fixing to start 60g sw tank!

Ok I have a 60g cube tank that I really want to get started!! I have a filter, lights, Hydrometer! I know I need more items to start it! Do I need to buy live sand? I heard that all the organisms are already dead?? So if not what kind can i use? And live rock?? It is very expensive! Any suggestions where to but cheap but good live rock? Or can it just be dead rock? Can I just add the sand and saltwater and wait on the rock while the tank cycles? And I was going to do the dead shrimp thing to cycle it! Any other suggestions would be appreciated! Thank yall very much

I used play sand but you need to find one with no silicates
dry base rock is just fine as it will become live in time
you need rock in tank for cycle as it cycles the bb builds onto the rock
be-sure to use a deli shrimp for a ammonia source to kick off your cycle

What brand of play sand do you use?

I have cycled my newish tank using live sand, dry rock and used a shrimp with some bottled bacteria to start off the process. You also need to consider a way of getting reverse osmosis water (from your LFS or getting your own RO/DI unit)

You can get cheap sand from marco rocks.
The most affordable rock can be bought from bulk reef supply.

I would avoid play sand because there's really no way of knowing what's in it.
