I would like to know if this is normal for this type of coral to act like this? I just bought it this past Sat. and it was standing straight up, and then yesterday morning it was bent over and then by last night it had withdrawn it self, and then this afternoon it was out in full but still bent over?

One other thing should it be on a rock or down on the sand bed?

Thanks for the replys.

Corals are animals, and they will get stressed out when moving. The standing up and stretching position is the eating position, and it may not want to eat immediately after moving.

I'm not good at coral ID. What kind is that? Most corals prefer to stay on the rocks, although there are exceptions.

What are your water parameters?
