Ok so I have set up a new reef tank that's has been up and running for about 24 hours now and I have noticed some hitch hickers on my live rock. Please help me identify them.

Photo 1 and 2 are a black thing that is wrapped around a piece of live rock.

Photo 2, 3 and 4 are of this little button thing that had a green center and has brown tentacle things that surround the green center.

Photo 5 looks like this light orange colour and has lots of little holes. I like it is sticky as it has half a crab that was attached to the rock when I put the rock in the tank. The crab was dead when I put it in the tank. There is also a clear one of these in the tank.
Please help Identify these. It would be greatly appreciated.

Also since the corals are in there does that mean I will have to run the lights on the tanks. Cause I read somewhere not to rub lights while your tank is cycling as it can cause a lot of algae and there is nothing in the tank to clean it. All help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You shouldn't have coral in your tank if your cycling. It's not going to last long. You need to have a well established tank with lots of bb in order for coral to thrive.

Yea they were hitch hickers the live rock. I do have a small reef tank. I bought this one to upgrade from the smaller on and out all the things in the smaller tank into the bigger tank. All the corals and fish once it is fully cycled.

Yea I do no all the cycle stuff like ammonia converts to nitrite then nitrate. Just never seen beneficial bacteria written as bb

So should I be leaving my lights on for the full time recommend for a reef tank.

I thought you said you just started to cycle?mmeaning you shouldn't have fish and especially wouldn't have corals. But if you did get lucky and they were hitchhikers then yes you should leave your light on if you want them.

I think the only corals on the rocks that came as a hitch hiker were 1 zooanthid and a brain coral.

Alright they still may have a very slight chance to survive. They do need and established tank to thrive.
