hi, I'm after a new protein skimmer but not sure what to go with, it needs to be hang on the back as I'm not running a sump, if anyone can give me some advice it would be great thanx

What's your tank size? I run a HOB red octopus and I think it's great. It lacks in adjustment though.

tanks a 30g, I'll have a look at the 1 you've mentioned but any others that anyone's had experience with will be good to hear about

I have a CPR Aquafuge PS. It is a combination refugium and skimmer that is HOB. I found it on eBay without the fancy name at 1/2 price.
It is listed as a 75 something when I searched SKIMMER.
I would be nervous about it all hanging on the back, but mine is sitting on supports on the stand.
Something to consider.

looks prety good but I'm after the skimmer only as will eventually upgrade with a sump under the tank but that won't be for a couple of years atleast
