hi all hope your well... right i have a 35g tank with no sump..yet.. iv just got hold of a 10g tank and cleaned it out and it fits perfectly in my cabinet like it was made for it.. what i wan to know is will a 10g sump be good enough. what is the best design and how do i set it up properly.(iam worried incase the power goes and i get a syphon back and my tank emptys on the flore. and is the any sey rules (do's and donts)

I'm not sure of the suggested sump sizes for tanks but I would guess that a 10 should be fine. I have a 30 g sump on my 90 gal Fe tank. As far as design there are plenty of great threads on this site....enough to get You started anyways.
Is your tank drilled? Or are you using overflow?

Also to avoid siphon backs in power failure, you just drill a small hole in the return right at the water level.
:)

Or you can get a check valve.
