i just started my tank(10gal) on the first and i put in 3lbs of live rock in it to help it cycle. my friend has had a tank for 3 years now and he said it's very difficult to keep everything on the rock alive. there is a bunch of stuff on the rock and i want them to live. how do i feed them or basically how do i keep them alive

FWIW, it is fairly easy to keep LR happy if you provide the proper environment. The skeleton building inverts will require CA and a banaced alk (easily provided for LR by regular waterchanges) and you will need to provide better than standard lighting, usually 2-3 WPG is plenty for LR. Feeding is accomplished by feeding the fish.

i also added a piece of shrimp in there, and the water is getting cloudy. should i just wait for teh shrimp to decay and then change the water or should i let the tank keep cycling. will the ammonia kill everything on the live rock
