Hi,

I recently got back into the salt water hobby after selling my previous aquarium earlier this year. I decided to go a little bit bigger than what I had before (90 gallon). My current aquarium is a 180 gallon with a 75 gallon sump at the bottom, with roughly 140lbs of live rock (already cycled) in it. In the 180 I have about 120lbs of Carib seal live sand in it; with a huge piece of live rock and a 10" panther grouper for cycling purposes. My the only thing that I have not done yet that I would like to do is a good uv sterilizer any suggestions?

I'm not sure I understand this statement. Do you mean to keep the nitrifying bacteria fed?

Thanks.!! Yes I'm trying to cycle the tank as quickly as possible my sharks should be comming in at the end of this week.

I agree, they need lots of swimming room, two might be a streatch in a 180G.

I've had a few sharks throughout the years and I completely agree with you on that but I have kept a horn shark in my previous tank for 5 years with great success and hopefully my luck will continue. There one of the smaller species that don’t get that big, and are bottom dwellers.

Ok, cool! That is good to know. Now we definitely will want to see some pics, when you get them!

Glad you have previous experience with them and good luck with your new tank. Looks pretty good so far, I understand why all your lr is in the sump now.

They should arrive at my local pet store today or tomorrow, but I can’t pick them up till Friday (crazy schedule) so hopefully I’ll post some picks this weekend.
