new to saltwater reefs

I have a 75gal wide tank and was curious on what pumps and power heads i need. I have a refungium pump and a boyu skimmer (got for $5) but will upgrade to a reef octopus after cycling. Any suggestions?

What you will need depends heavily on what your plans are for the tank. Are you going fish only? FOWLR? Reef?

Return pump or powerheads? Sps need a higher water flow. Maybe a vortech mp40 or a couple of koralia evo 1050's.

Considering that SPS tend to prefer high water flows, I think you should aim for the upper band of the 30-50x turnover. So up to 3750 gph total flow, less the 500 or so your sump pump will provide, puts you in the vicinity of 3000-3250 gph.
