first off, let me say what an awesome site this is....i have never learned so much about my fish and tank as i have on this forum!!

next up, i have recently purchased a scooter dragonet and the LFS told me nothing of what it eats...i figured after watching him for a couple hours that he picks the rocks. is this what he should be eating...not quite sure....hope that someone can help...

OK, brace yourself. How big of a tank do you have?Hopefully over 55 gallons. How much live rock do you have? 100+ or else they do not eat. They really on the pods from the rocks as food. Good luck and answer these questions.

While what duamun said is true for mandarin dragonettes, it is not always true of scooters. Most scooters will take to an alternate diet of prepared foods, I would recommend mysis and a good variety of other foods. They, like mandarins, are micro predators and feed on small crusteceans on the LR.
