Hey guys im new to the saltwater aquarium world and I was wondering what kind of advice you could give me about my aquarium. I currently have a 1 gallon live rock only. I am mainly doing this for the hitchhikers and just to get a feel of the hobby. Could anyone tell me what this is? I believe it is a mushroom but I am not sure. Sorry about the terrible quality.

Welcome to the other side! lol. I do both fresh and salt, but some advice for salt water: when you're replacing evaporated water, use fresh water, as the salts don't evaporate. Otherwise you'll slowly increase the salinity. I learned that the hard way.

Thank you. I havent had any problems with evaporation though. When I do partial water changes do I add saltwater or freshwater to replace what I just removed?

You use saltwater the same salinity as the tank.
