Good Morning, I am approx 2 1/2 months into a new 100 gal salt aquarium. Currently have 3" live sand bed and a mixture of about 75# live rock. Have 2 yellow tail damsels, 3 clown fish and 2 imperial crabs. System complete with 30 gal refugium and protein skimmer. Water chemistry has been rock stable over the past few weeks, pH 8.2, ammonia 0, nitrite 0 and nitrate 10. Starting to get some green algae in the sand bed and rock. Was thinking of now adding a tang to the community. Looking for thoughts. Thanks

Reef or fowl? If reef I'd add another 25lbs of rock first. And take care of the algae issue before adding more livestock. Adding more livestock will just add to the algae issue.

Are you running a macro algae in your refugium? IMO that is one of the biggest benifits about a sump, and perhaps one of the most efficient ways to remove nitrates and phosphates.

Smaller Tangs (Tomini, Kole, Two-Spot, etc) would work well in a 100 and could help with the algae.

What other fish are you thinking of adding? You kinda want to add them from least aggressive to most aggressive. You've already got damsels and clowns that can be aggressive/territorial.
