Ocean Rock

hi

i found out that the rules on the island here on okianwa japan (military) is that you can take rocks but you cannot do it with scuba equipment. so as that is said i have scuba stuff and snorkel stuff. i as wondering if getting live rock from the ocean is a good idea and if it is what should i look for as far as being "live". i am by no means trying to destroy any balances in the ocean so if its a bad idea i would stop immediatley so we can keep the reefs beutiful.

problem is, so much of the coastal shore line's are polluted, so your live rock could be harboring nasties. Okinawa might be far enough from mainland/Japan's larger islands that you can pull it off.

I personally have only purchased aqua cultured rock...to avoid upsetting any natural balances in reefs.
