I have some old lr that i really like the shape of, how to i go about sanitizing it? Should i boil it? Also will my current live rock propagate over to this rock?

Thanks again!

If there was karma on this board you'd be full of it!

why boil it? as long as it was not exposed to anything "bad" there is no need to boil dead rock. I just rised it well and scrubed off any dead items on the lr and put in my tank. IMO no need to boil dead rock.
in time the dead rock will become LR...

It sat in nasty water at a buddies house for a while, i just dont want to infect my tank with anything.

Did he ever add medication to treat illness in the main tank? If so it could be contaminated with copper and boiling it will not help remove it.

There was no illness known, he just had it sitting in water for a month or so with no pumps/filters running.
