Currently I have my sump leading into media that is in a removable drawer, then that goes into another media on Styrofoam partially to reduce noise and for bacteria. That leads to some sponge and my skimmer, which is then piped over to my return that's covered by a sock that I clean every 3-4 days. I got this set-up used, and I was thinking of keeping the skimmer and buying a new sump and investing in some bio balls. Any advice is welcome, thanks on advance!
