Ph problem in cycling tank

I set up my tank yesterday with sand and live rock. Im using the pinpoint ph testerand when I went to work last night ph was 8.2 but this morning its reading 5.8. Is this even possible for it to drop that much and if so whst should I do?

When you are cycling only worry about ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. High amounts of the first two will skew all other test results.
