I was wonder'n if I was to start up a new saltwater tank would I set everything up initially with the phoshate reactor or would I wait for the tank to cycle then add it to the system then?

The reason I ask is because I got the reactor, pump, hoses and the media got everything ready to go and come to find out I cant have the reactor on the tank because my hood wont accomidate it and I dont have a sump. My plan was to hang it off the side of the tank. So out of agrivation and disgust with myself for not account'n for the hood........:banghead: I want to get another tank. Hence the Phosphate reactor on a new tank question.

you could start it up with the reactor but don't run any media through it. you'll end up slowing down the cycle

A phosphate removing media like GFO would be fine, just don't use anything like Purigen that will remove nitrogenous waste.
