Is it alright to use any playsand over Crushed Coral in a salt water tank?

Use an argonite based sand, rather than a silica based sand. Otherwise, many prefer sand over CC.

wait, did you mean over as in on top of? If that's the case then sure it'll work but eventually the sand will settle to the bottom leaving you with a sand under CC substrate.

I would use the sand. If its play sand, make sure there is no silica in it. I think you use vinegar on it if it fizzes you cant use it

That's backwards. Actually you want the sand to fizz with the vinegar test.
