plumbing problem?

not sure if anyone can catch the drift of this but last night the lfs guy came over and plumbed in the new sump/ref and the flow was very fast noise of the overflow was very loud now tonight out of the blue it has become much quieter and the flow into the overflow has lessened, if any of that made any sense to anyone is this normal like a break in period is this a problem sign? any ideas? thanks...

ok gang figured out the problem and developed a new one 1st problem plants from ref made it over the wall into the pipe in front of the pump.shut off both valves and took apart the tube going to the skimmer when we put it back together cracked the ring that holds the plastic piece that goes to the pump..so everything is shut down till hardware store opens tomorrow :?

latest update hubby got part and installed it now back at hardware store while putting back together cracked the seal on the gasket coming out of sump

due out in fall 2003 how not to set up a saltwater reef by al and lor
