I LOVE the potter's angelfish! It says online that this is an expert only fish (marine biologists, zoo etc)

I have heard that if it gets enough algae, it will do well..
true?

My LR is covered in brown algae, will it eat this?

Or should I settle on a coral beauty, also a gorgeous fish.

I believe I will have, for my stock list,
possible...
foxface
dwarf angel or big angel
wrasse (small one)

I would not recommend it.

Check out Coral Beauty, Flame, or bi color instead for dwarf angels. I think you will have much better success with any of these.

Coral Beauty:

Flame Angel:

Bi-Color:

Personally I prefer the dwarf angels and they will leave you more stocking room. Some of the large angels get very large and your 80g may be a bit small. Rember there is not guarantee with angels that they will be coral safe if you decide to go reef down the road.

Your revised stock list looks good and even leaves room for a couple more fish(assuming you go with a dwarf angel) down the road when you are ready such as a pair of clowns and even one of the more hardy tangs.

You could even look at doing a small school of chromis 3 or 5 which would look cool in you long tank:

Whatever you decide have fun and be patient.

Good Luck,

I love tangs..but keep hearing they are ich magnets. I am going to add one fish, try to keep my hands out of the tank to reduce stress...more snails then for algae, give them garlic and vitamin C in their food...and TRY to prevent ich. I bought some ich med that is reef safe online from nosickfish.com that another member used and it worked. Will have a hospital tank in case someone gets a breakout.

I guess only time will tell!

My LFS is getting a batch of fish in tomorrow...I did like the foxface I saw today..and they are peaceful and easy to take care of, from what I've heard. Or I will get a coral beauty angel if they have it.

Yes this is true so if you have plans for a reef be careful. Also not all tangs are ick magnets. Yellow tang and Kole tang are good tangs that will not get it as easy as say the powder blue and hippo tang. Your stocking list looks good.
