I have a new fowlr with only 20 snails and two clown. I have two maxijet 600's going, one on each side. It blows pretty hard. Does this seem to be two much flow? I also have a question about food. I have done a lot of research, but everyone has a different idea about what's best

The goal for a fowlr system is to have around 10-20x turnover, compared to reef tanks maxing out around 50x. So, with a 29 gallon, you will want between 290-580 gph. This can be done through multiple powerheads to give a more randomized flow pattern to help assist with little to no 'dead zones'.
In terms of feeding, I feed my reef tank every other day. I prefer frozen foods.
