Hat would be the proper way to make live sand for a tank that I will be getting

Put in dry sand and wait for it to be colonized by bacteria. If possible, see if your LFS can sell or give you a cup of sand from 1 of their established tanks.

Could I just use sand from my tank and mix it with the other sand durning the transfer
