Protein skimmer

Hey all I setup my sw tank last night I bought the entire system off of someone fish and all he built a custom sump for it with a skimmer in sump setup. My question is this........ How fast should the water be coming out of the skimmer?????

That depends on the pump for the skimmer. It doesn't mater how fast it comes out what you want is to adjust the bubbles to make the gunk go into the cup. I have mine set so it takes about a week to fill up some people like it I fill up three times a week. You just got to set it the way you like it.
