Protein skimmer needed on an aquapod 24 or 29g?

I was thinking of getting one of the aquapod 24/29 gallon tanks. It says they are all in one, so all you have to do is buy LR, sand and fish (I think i would replace the ph and add a heater). I noticed there was no skimmer on the unit and i am aware that they sell skimmers. I also heard all the skimmer they sell suck. Is it necessary to have a skimmer on one of the aquapods or should i just do weekly PWC?

Do you plan on making this a reef tank or just a FOWLR tank? Using RO/DI water or tap water?

If you are doing weekly water changes then a skimmer will not really be needed on your tank.

I agree that weekly PWC`s of 20% will make it so you`ll be OK. I personally like skimmers and always recommend them but you should be OK IMO.
