So just got my 280 litre tank set up and all parameters are fine but I'm getting some purple algae an the sand bed and rocks. Do you think i may need more flow.

Could you please post a picture? Sounds like cyano to me.

Cyano is often a result of not enough flow and/or excess nutrients. Are you using ro water?

Hi thanks for the reply. I can't manage to get a picture to load up I only have a yellow tank a pair of clown fish and a blue damsel in the tank . I feed every other day do you think this is to much.

I would slow feeding to every 3 days or so. Also, are you using RO water?

Yes I am using ro water. Ill reduce to every 3 days. Anything else you can think of..

Try searching saltwater Cyanobacteria, and confirm that that's what you have.

Make sure that everywhere in the tank is getting good flow, do frequent WCs, and siphon out as much of the cyano as you can when you do WCs.

Thanks for all the help.
