I setup my QT whenever i need it and take it down when Im done with it. I have an aquaclear hang on filter that I keep the sponge for it in the sump for the DT when its not in use then just fill up QT tank and put sponge into HOB filter.. I also do 20% water change every 3-4 days..

Yes ,this is how i do it and how most do it too.
The damsel idea is not good IMO...makes no sense to do that

So for the qt, u put fresh salt water or water from DT to fill it? How big is your QT?

I use DT water and i now use a 29 gallon,but have used 10's ,20 longs and rubbermaid totes...
