I have a 34g tank that had been up and running for almost 2yrs now. It had about 45lb's of LR in it...... recently i upgraded to a smaller tank and took all the live stock out of the 34g. I also took all LR but about 10lb's out....
My question is ---
if I take all the LR out, is there anything special I have to do to keep this tank up as a QT?
2gal ghost shrimp breed tank (working)
10gal snails tank for puffers
10gal fw tank with snails, ghost shrimps, and gobbies.

don't have to have LR in QT.
put couple pvc in it for livestock to hide/swim with, that should be fine.
I don't run my QT all the time, I only use it when I need to.
so everytime I need to use it, I add my DT water to the QT and run a HOB filter that I have it in my sump + a heater.

The only problem with putting LR in a QT is if you have to treat the fish in the QT then you might not be able to use that rock again. Esp. if you use copper.
