red and green sand

ive recently noticed a large portion of my sand collecting or turning red and green. Im thinking that maybe its just coraline algae from when i scrubbed some of it off the glass but i was just wondering if anyone knows or can confirm what this is. THANKS!

Probably cyanobacteria. It comes in a number of colors.
