Refugium Mineral Mud

I have some Fiji Gold in my refugium and was wondering how often it would need to be changed out or cleaned? It has been 4 months.

Most of the time the mud will replenish itself. But its recommended to replace 20-30% of the mud in your refugium every 4 to 6 months. This way, you get the best results, and the leftover mud still will do what it needs to do and give your tank the nutrients it needs for your corals to excel.

I have some in my refuge that`s covered up with a few inches of sand for about 4 yrs. I dont plan on ever replacing it. I wish I had never used it to be honest with you.
