remove shrimp before adding fish?

I asked this in another thread but I don't think anybody noticed. Is it a good idea to remove any leftover starter shrimp before adding fish, or should I just leave it there? Will fish try to eat it, and is that a good thing? Thanks for any advice!

You mean your cycling shrimp?

As long as you are sure there is ammonia going into the tank (Feed your fish daily) you can take it out.

Otherwise it doesnt matter.

Before you add fish I assume that your cycle is complete? What are your test parameters? I would siphon any remaining gunk (of what was a shrimp as it should have rotted away) and do a good water change (even up to 40 to 50%) to help eliminate any nitrate buildup.

After the water change let the tank set a day retest and then go pick out fish.
