RL hermit crabs wont stay away from Green Star Polyp coral

Should I be concerned? I am not sure if they are "cleaning" or eating the coral.

The poylps dont seem to mind on the side of the rock where they are heavily populated. Its a new coral, only 2 weeks old to my tank. however, the other side of the rock is not heavily populated yet with polyps, and the crabs are all over it like candy!

I put it as high as I could on a rock away from the sand, but they keep finding it. Thoughts?

I have both hermit crabs and GSP in both my tanks. I haven't had any issue with the crabs messing with the coral. A bigger issue with keeping the GSP from spreading everywhere!

it's probably the algae on that particular rock they are after and not the coral. i wouldn't worry yet.

yeah, every time ive added a new piece of rock or coral my CUC takes about a week or so of exploring/cleaning it before they leave it alone. i'd say you're fine
