Went to the LFS and some LR websites and they say to use Tap water with dechlorinator when first putting my LR with Base rock for the initial cycle. They say it is because tap water contains some of the stuff that would benefit the rocks and help with the cycle.

Should I go that route or should I use 100% RO/DI when I'm first putting in my rocks for the cycle?

IMO RO/DI. I work for a water municipality so I know what goes in there. I have a link at home I`ll post tonite. There are folks that use tap water. Not all tap water is created equal. I know Kurt uses DI water. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

IMO: If you are curing your rock outside the display then tap is fine. In the display RO/DI.

Ya it will be inside the DT,

Ill have my BR at the bottom and fill it up with the SW, then put the LR in.

So RO/DI it is..

Thanks guys
