RO waste water

I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on RO waste water. I used my RO unit for the first time today and made 50 litres of RO water and I kept my "dirty" water which was around 80 litres. How can I run a tap all day and only use 130 litres?

What kind of pressure are you feeding the RO with? That sounds like an awful good rejection ratio. I probably get 1/3rd the water i put through the filter.

I use a flow restrictor on my waste line with it turned down almost all the way I'm getting 5 gallon waste for every 12 gal approx.

53 PSI on a 50 GPD. I was expecting much more waste.
