I got my live rock today for my aquarium and i'm liking it. I don't have as much as i thought and i was wondering if i could use some of the rock that i have from another aquarium i had a looong time ago since its just sitting in the garage. WIll it be ok since i'm just started my cycle?

If it was formerly live reef rock, then just wash it off well to get any dirt off, and toss it in. If it was not from a SW reef, then I'd be wary.

yea since your just starting out it couldnt hurt, any die off will help your tank cycle. your doin a fishless cycle correct?

also.. should i run my protein skimmer while its cycling? Its an AquaC Remora if that has to do with anything.

some members run it during the cycle to break it in some wait till they add fish to start it,i used mine during my cycle
