Dry aragonite sand, well rinsed is much cheaper and just as effective to add.

Ok that's what I'll get. What's the best method of rinsing?

And what's the best way to get it in there with all my critters? Do I gently mix it with the sand that's in there? Do I just lay it on top? Is it ok that I move the LR around to evenly disperse the sand?

I learned a tip from melosu the other day I thought it was great. Use a pvc tube to run the sand down your tank to keep the sediment down. And that way you can be more accurate where your placing it.

I will most definitely use that trick! So what about the sand mixture? Should I put it on top or mix it? and the critters?

I don't think you really want to stir your sand up too much I think mix it in a little bit but you don't want to spike your nitrates or ammonia if there happened to be ammonia lock in your sand.

Not sure if you have any sifters that keep your sand turning
