What is the best type of sand to use in a FOwLR?

Sand that has an average grain size of a suger grain.

Argonite based sand is best as it will buffer your system to some degree.

I agree, of course, with fishfreek. From what I understand, verly large grain substrate is not supposed to be good for FO because it really collects diatoms and such. I recommend a good sand sifting gobi if you use alot.
