To test if something is aragonite or not drip a few drops of vinegar on it. If it bubbles up then its aragonite. If it just sits there with no reaction then its not.

well thanks for clearing that up. When I think of sand, I think of the sand that comes from the ground. Using the accual word aragonite rather than sand would maybe keep it a little clearer for the newbies. Im not a newbie and it confused me.
