Ya I would recommend a skimmer they sell hob ones if you want to go that route

So should I go with both or do away with the 280

Well my tank is cycled should I go with a clean up crew or fish or maybe wait a few day n hope I don't have another nitrite spike?

If it's over you should be good. Get some fish.

You don't need a cleanup crew. Don't waste the money. They don't "clean" anything. Also, there's nothing to clean if you don't have fish and/or algae.

You sure about the cycle? Only been 2 1/2 weeks, with rock and sand added twice. I'd be leary about the cycle being completely done.

You can use both if you want. I like hob filters on my small systems for a place to run media and surface agitation
