Setting up a QT tank...

Is there or can there be a thread that tells how to set up a QT tank?

I've found out how to set up and cycle a new tank (I now know what I did wrong and what to do right for the next tank) but I've not been able to find too much on setting up a QT except that I should.

What size tank? Does it have to cycle? Does it have to run all the time even when I have nothing new? How long do I leave livestock in QT?

Also, is it a good idea to QT "new" live rock just to make sure that there isn't any unwanted hitchhiker?

Sorry, but I want to start doing this correctly since it's going to be a hobby we enjoy and plan to have for a long time. We don't want to harm or make any fish unhappy.

Yes, it's very good. I'm glad I finally found it. I got my test kit today. Not the easiest thing to use, but I'm gettin' there
