Hello all!

I just purchased a Solar Xtreme 48" T5HO fixture. It includes a timer on the system itself, my question is how much of normal lights, antics, and moonlight LEDs are needed per day?

It really depends on if it is a reef tank or FOWLR. If it's a reef tank, you should set timers as follows:

Full Spectrum 10,000's run from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm
Actinic's run from 9:00 am - 7:00 pm
Lunar LED's run from 8:00 pm - 8:00 am

FOWLR is simply 10:00 am - 8:00 pm for both 10,000's and Actinic's and LED's the opposite

Make sense?

sounds like a plan. i am setting up a reef tank so i will use your example.
Thanks!

its usually the other way around, actinichs are on an hour before and after the day lights, as the actinics are dimmer then the daylights and still put out the PAR that corals can use
