shortest cycle ever

Hi, I have a question. I am not new to slat water but was just thinking something. Is it possible to basicaly have a real short cycle, like 1 week. What if you buy the rock that is cured, have it home in the water in 5 minutes. Would there be a small cycle, or can it be possible to not even have one? Before anybody freaks-out, I am by no means thinking of doing this. Just a thought I had.

Yes, it's possible. Depending on how you opt to cycle, it's possible not ever be able to see a cycle.

adding live rock could be looked at as adding a filter full of water and used media bag... all the live rock is is a media filter lol

I was wondering because when I originaly set-up my 55 I had zero readings in a week. But waited it out just to make sure.

It`s very possible that if the rock was already cured you would not see the cycle results.
