Hi, I have about a dozen pineapple sponges growing on a single piece of live rock. The tank's been set up for nearing two months - and I have 3 chromis, 1 yellow belly, and three hermit crabs in the tank at the moment. I had actually planned on adding my first coral - more than likely a Zoa - this Wednesday.

Is it fine to put the corals in on the same rock? Or keep it to another rock on the opposite end of the tank - or just wait?

It's fine. The sponges are completely harmless. Just act like they aren't there as they will spread and die on a regular basis.
