Should my first fish be quarentined?

In theory yes it should. The reason for quarinteen is so you can monitor the fish for a period of time and verify its in good health and not carring a parasite or disease.

If it is you can dose the hospital tank instead of doing it in the main tank.

What fishfreek said... I got burned by that exact same scenerio, and ended up having to dose my main tank with copper, which if you don't know will kill inverts for a long time after you are done with the treatment. It's very very hard to get rid of the copper. 8O

yeah... copper gets into your ornamental rocks and live rocks and everything and stay there.. it's better to quarantine.. plus like i've stated before, quarantine can be just a little 10g tank and with the price of medicine so high, i think it's a cheaper way to use a 10g dosage than a 95g for me...
