cure live rock before putting it in the tank so it can be cycled or do u just put it in uncured to begin cycling TIA

putting in uncurred rock causes die off to happen in your tank, which in turn starts the cycle procees, cured rock has minimal dye off but when put in a new tank will kill off stuff anyways, which will again start the proceess

i would use uncured

from what i understand if you used cured rock cycling will take less time (less ammonia to convert) but uncured will eventually supply a greater number of beneficial bacteria. I'm just learning too...i might be wrong

I would use (and did use) uncured. Will set up an strong cycle. Takes a little more time, but worth it IMO.

the best advice any new aquarist can receive is to take your time...i learned the hard way
