Skimmer help please

I just changed my skimmer from the hydro to the tunze9002 with the upgraded cup. My questions is, is it normal for my cup to get filled with alot of water during the break in period? The water in the cup is still dirty. But this has my top off working crazy my cup gets filled in about 10 hrs

It sounds like your not getting enough air. Check the air way there may be something clogging it.

Can you lower the water level in the chamber?

If it has a valve you should be able to adjust it so that more air is drawn and less water (thicker skimmate). The break in period tends to reduce micro bubbles and ready the valve; not so much an affect on the amount of water drawn into the skimmer. That's the job of the valve.
