skimmer ?'s & cycling

I filled my new 55 gallon tank 1 week ago. Today I add 2 good size pieces of raw shrimp to help cycle the tank until I get my LR. Should I NOT run my Aqua C Remora until after I finish my cycling? I had it running since the day that i filled my tank. I wondered if it would slow down my cycle process.
Thanks for you help.....

I wouldn't run it. You' won't have anything to really skim out.

I put the shrimp in my tank on Thursday evening and it is dissolved. The only thing that is left is some small shrimp flurries that are moving around in the water with the current.

thanks for you suggestions!
