Luckily all of the salt had disolved and the water was nice and clear so i can fix any issues that come up with the salinity pretty easily i think.

Man am i glad i checked on the water!
Oh, sorry.. I should've mentioned something about that. The brute trash cans are what everyone uses because they are made Of stronger plastic.

And I would check out the feeding habits of the Blenny, it might only eat Copepods, in which case I would add it once the tank is established. The other is fine though.

Well this morning i walk out to our garage and the second trashcan is starting to buckle

The tank and sump are now full lol. The salinity is only at 1.015 so i need to get it up but it shouldn't be to hard

Oh the adventures of starting something new!

i got the salinity up to 1.023 last night. I have about 40lbs of sugar sand and crushed coral on the bottom now and everything is up and running great. The water has cleared significantly so I think that i'm going to stop by and get a few smaller pieces of LR from the LFS today and start this thing cycling.

it'll be another 2-3 weeks before i get all established LR and LS from my friend so i don't see how starting the cycle now could hurt at all.

Well i got a couple of smaller pieces of Pukani LR roday. It's not much at all but i'm still waiting to see how much i'll get from my friend. The skeleton is actually a piece that my wife and I found in mexico on our honeymoon.

It feels like i'm actually starting to get somewhere, Yay!

Oh neither of the fish would be added until the tank has been up and stable for a while. I'm thinking way down the road right now.

I'm going to take the trash cans back and see if i could possibly exchange it for one of the Brute trash cans. Live and learn i guess

I was able to exchange the flimsy trash can for one of brutes. Yay!

I'm also adding rock as I find pieces that I like. This is what I have so far.

Haha nice man! Those brute trashcans are pretty beast.....

Spend alot of time on your scape and make it perfect! I know you love to change your freshwater scape all the time, but its much more difficult and dangerous to change a saltwater scape!
