I got a nice new JBJ Auto Top Off controller today as partial payment for some of the work i'm doing for a friend. Nice and easy to set up right out of the box, straight forward, and so far seems to be working pretty well. This has potential to make my life much easier now

Even though I think my original sock holder was a good design but my fear came to reality and one of the tracks broke off (not that this impacted the tank at all). I took the opportunity to try out a newer design that I have been thinking of that will probably be a lot sturdier. Here is the new unit, I built in a bubble trap type compartment to try to help cut down on some of the evap I've been having.

Puppy not included

I don't understand how that sock holder works. What is the box beside the socks for?

That's where the drains will empty into. The chamber will fill then the water will flow out into the area where the socks are. I used to have one of the aqueon proflex sumps so that's where I got the idea.

So, that part hangs outside the sump?

Nope it sits inside the first chamber. I'll post a pic once I install it and it'll probably make a lot more sense then

Updated FTS. I've been fighting with some water quality issues recently but I finally got a handle on all my levels and everything is once again looking happy.
