Shallow reefs are really neat. How are you holding the mangroves in place? Don't forget to spritz them down, that's the mistake I made with mine and they died off.

They are attached to a floating styrofoam raft. I haven't been spritzing them that much...maybe I should do it more. How often do you think they need a spraying?

Maybe daily? The key is to prevent salt build up on the plant I hear.

Interesting. I haven't seen any salt build up on them but I'm thinking it'll be safer to spray them just in case.

Well I'm not getting a shallow tank after all. The wife is letting me buy a new car instead! Woohoo!

Hey Sky! Good to hear from you again.
Tank looks great, but sorry to hear about the angel. She was very very pretty.

It's been a while since I've updated this thread so here are the main points to bring it current:
- I just recently got 2 new Snowflake Ocellaris Clownfish
- Yesterday I changed out my sump for a new Trigger Systems Tide Line 30 sump (this sump is amazing!!) It freed up almost 18" of space in the stand which now perfectly houses my ATO bottles.
- The Mangroves are doing awesome, just last week one of them out out 2 new leaves

My intent this last weekend was to break this tank down to a 93 cube but it was decided that my wife decided she liked this tank better. Yaya for keeping the larger dystem!!

over the last few days I've noticed that my corals seem rather blah looking. I decided to put my LED back on the tank and everything is looking much happier already.

After a few days back under the LED all the coral are looking nice and happy. I'm seeing some colors starting to come out again that I haven't seen in quite some time. I'll try to get some new pics in the next couple days.

I'm a tad confused. The LEDs were off why? What was lighting things for the coral? Overall things look like they are going well.
